200 changes in a redline.
Three of them matter.
Traditional diff tools treat every change equally. A reordered comma weighs the same as a revised indemnity cap. Clausul separates material changes from formatting noise, so the things that move the deal show up first. We build for people who read contracts for a living.
Built in Stockholm, by someone who had the problem
Clausul started in Stockholm. It was built by someone who had spent enough hours comparing contract drafts to know that the existing tools were not solving the actual problem. The output was technically correct and practically useless: hundreds of marks, most of them noise, and the changes that actually mattered buried somewhere in the middle.
The bet behind Clausul is simple: a comparison tool should rank changes the way a careful reader would. Material first. Noise out of the way. Trustworthy enough to ship to the other side.
Andreas Scherman
Andreas is the founder of Clausul. He leads product and engineering, and is based in Stockholm.
He writes most of the code himself, talks to every early customer, and reads every support email. If you want to discuss the product, the roadmap, or how Clausul fits a specific workflow, the fastest way to reach him is the email below.
Four principles, kept honestly
Material changes first
A redline should rank changes the way a careful reader would. Numbers, dates, obligations, and parties belong at the top. Whitespace and re-paragraphing belong out of the way.
Trustworthy output
If we cannot stand behind a comparison, we do not ship it. No silent fallbacks, no quiet "best effort" when the document is unusual. You should be able to send the output to the other side without re-checking it.
No AI training on customer documents
We use AI in the comparison pipeline, but customer documents are never used to train models. Our AI provider operates under terms that prohibit it. See the security page for details.
Security as a default
EU-hosted infrastructure. Encryption in transit and at rest. Documents auto-deleted after 14 days. The defaults should be safe enough that you do not have to think about them.
Try it, or talk to us
The fastest way to evaluate Clausul is to upload two documents and see what comes back. If you would rather talk first, the founder reads every email.
